So the leadership campaign has officially kicked off and 26th January is the deadline for anyone to join and have a chance to vote. There are no special preferences for MPs, AMs or trade union members. Every party member from the newest to the party President, has the same say in who becomes the next leader. By joining, you also become a member of the only party that always puts Wales first. Why not make a resolution to make a difference?

Go Leanne! Get the ball and stick it in the back of the net! The party needs a non-Welsh speaker as leader to help us make a lasting breakthrough in the urban areas. We will then take a great step towards becoming a republican party. We are the sole heirs to the radical political tradition of Wales.

I recently rejoined Plaid Cymru after hearing about Leanne and her policies. This is a breath of fresh air at last. I've lived and spent most of my working life in South and West Wales and believe we need someone who will appeal to the vast majority in the South and West who are traditionally socialist leaning in their outlook and are disillusioned by the choices before them. She will get my vote. If plaid adopts a sensible left platform we will win hands down.... and felicitations for learning the language. From the other few blogs I’ve read today Leanne’s competence in Welsh is endorsed by people in the party who do not share her views on politics. Anyway, good luck to her, and she will have the good luck if she sticks to her guns.
