In a recent statement relating to the current public sector pension dispute, Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander accused the unions of being hell-bent of wanting strike action. He also stated that he would appeal with his Tory and Liberal colleagues over the heads of the union leaders and directly to union members. The LibCons are endeavouring to paint this dispute as overtly political and not about ordinary trade union members' concerns.
Well tomorrow step forward the National Association of Head Teachers. They are a passionate and very professional union but in their 114 year history have never taken strike action. On Wednesday, they will be announcing the result of their ballot for strike action, so if it comes out as 'yes', where does that leave the Chief Secretary of State? Is he going to accuse the NAHT of political posturing?
Over to you Danny - this should be interesting.
