Why are Labour Getting Dirty?

In recent days, the Labour party have started to get dirty, particularly in their personal attacks against Plaid's leader. There is massive pressure on Carwyn Jones to get an overall majority, from Welsh constituencies, Welsh MPs and his bosses in London. They have got away with running a largely British election in a Welsh context and with the Tories forcing cuts onto Wales, they can avoid debating policy and concentrate on 'standing up for Wales.'

However, the latest polls have started to turn the momentum and with the prospect of 5 years of a stand-still Labour government (because that is always what they do when in complete control), it's understandable why voters who despise the Tories are starting to question what Labour will actually do if they get a majority, other than blame the Tories.

Any clangers dropped by Labour over the coming days will not help their cause, so just keep an eye out to see if the media are prepared to step away from their rhetoric between now and Thursday.
