Vote Labour and Fair Funding Dies

The link above is from one of the Plaid Cymru MPs Jonathan Edwards. Within days of Labour winning the Welsh election, the British Government shows what it thinks of Labour's boast of 'standing up for Wales' by admitting that there will be no change to the funding system of Wales. At the same time, David Cameron has been tripping over himself to please the new SNP Government in Scotland.

Why should the Tories suddenly feel the urge to give Wales fair funding because Labour are now in charge? After all, Labour didn't bother when they were in power for 12 years. Isn't it funny how that particular fact did not crop up from Labour during the recent election campaign?

In fact, as significant as this act by Westminster is, I very much doubt that Carwyn and co will even give it a mention. This is a shame, as Carwyn's claim today of 'going it alone' may well be closer to the truth than he thinks, because there will be little notice taken of Wales from London for the next 5 years. If you think I am wrong, try to find coverage of the Welsh election in last weekend's London press and then you might start to get the message.

I hope that there is more to Labour in Wales than their 'maintenance manifesto', or we are all in trouble.
