Vince with his 'hard man' look
I read with some incredulity today a criticism from British Govt Minister Vince Cable, describing his coalition partners as: -
'ruthless, calculating and thoroughly tribal, but that doesn't mean that we can't work with them.'
Well, there's nothing like a bit of team building is there? However, what strikes me about this statement is the contrast with my experiences of the Lib Dems in active politics. While as individuals, many I know are very charming and professional, when it comes to campaigning they make Wayne David look like the Pope. If Labour do go in with the Libs in Cardiff Bay then I wish them well, but there will be fun to be had comparing statements coming from Ed to those coming from Carwyn. If this does come to pass, then I wish the Labour press office all the spin in the world, because they are going to need it.

ReplyDeleteThe Lib Dems and Wayne David may have their faults, but to compare them (unfavourably) to a man who joined the Hitler Youth, led the successor to the Inquisition and helped to cover up the child rape is frankly disgusting, and is the kind of hyperbolic name calling that brings politics into disrepute.
Lighten up - anon - it is obvious that ian was using 'the pope' as an icon of virtue in this figure of speech.
